Why more people couldn't repay their CPF after selling off property in 2020
Data published by the CPF Board showed that more people who used their CPF monies to pay their housing loans were unable to fully refund the amount after selling their properties in 2020, compared with the previous 2 years. However, the CPF Board told The Straits Times that not a single person who was unable to do a full refund was required to top up their CPF in cash that year. In Powering Your Property, Prime Time's Rachel Kelly and Shehzad Haque spoke to Nicholas Mak, Head of Research and Consultancy, ERA Real Estate to find out why this is happening and how you can protect yourself from this growing trend when it comes to financing options.
